yep. its getting warmer. Half of the frozen layer on WAB’s lake has now thawed…
looking forward to a wonderful spring.
On one hand we have this extreme where the stairs of subway are being hand wiped by an army of cleaners at the expense of inconvenience to commuters who have to use the tight spaces of escalators and on other hand we have the “just do it” Chinese who will just clear the throat in a loud (warning signal to those nearby) voice and spit anywhere ?

Yea, that is how Maheen calls them. Babies in China wear pyjamas with slits in them at the bottom to allow the baby to “just do it” whenever they feel like, wherever they feel like it… and its the same case in severely cold winters too. Maheen’s Nani wondered what will happen in the subway if this baby had diarrhea
and as expected the snow arrived this morning… its now 5 hours and it continues to snow.. the trees are bowing down under the weight of snow and some branches have snapped… kids are playing out… thankfully the heating is on letting us have nice time at home.
some piccies attached.
The weather is getting colder… the wind blows in the dry leaves of the trees making music… the night is falling earlier and earlier… the heating is not yet switched on… i am loving it 🙂
We had a trip to Hou Hai and Nan Lu Guo Xiang – the pretty road adjacent to Hou Hai where you find exotic bars, Hutong atmosphere and lots of tourists 🙂 Some pictures to share.
left Beijing this morning to fly to Dubai where we stay for 9 nights and then Amelie and Maheen are off to France and I go to Pakistan. Arrived in Dubai after 8.5 hrs just when sandstorm had swept through…poor visibility in the city and hot. Hotel is nice but its a shock for prices and quality of service when compared to China. I miss China already… only felt this when leaving Pakistan but today when leaving Beijing it felt like leaving home… no wonder on our arrival at hotel in Dubai the check in documents were typed in my name and they put my nationality as Chinese… despite presenting my UK passport which lost its virginity today… got voilated by same stamp as did my Pakistani passport 14 years ago… well… Dubai has perhaps some special link… here are some photos… hmm… my netbook doesnt want to use the insert photos wizard so will do that later…
here are the photos… well the issue was compatibility with IE8 and WordPress version I have installed… perhaps time to update wordpress or Microsoft to get its act together… knowing M$ I think I will have to update WP 😉
